; These are all mandelbrot images that I found over one weekend. I had 
; noticed that a certain kind of shape kept appearing in similar places, 
; and was trying to find more to investigate how true this observation was. 
 
; The shape is what I call an "organic", although it struck me later that
; "brain" may have been a better name, since they often have a brain-like 
; shape. They basically have an oval shell, and a hollow interior with a
; cardioid in the very center.
 
; They occur in the creases at the rear ends of cardioids, and if you look
; there it seems that you will always find them. Usually on the single strand
; that originates in the center of the crease and attaches the cardioid to
; the rest of the mandelbrot set.
 
; To demonstrate this, choose an arbitrary area of the set, and find a
; miniture cardioid. Magnify the crease at the rear until the central strand
; on which the cardioid is attached is visible. Get as far into the crease 
; as you want, closer to the minature cardioid. Then magnify the strand 
; and look for "nodes". The nodes should be organics.
 
; The interesting thing, I think, is that the detail in the area where the
; organic occurs may in general not resemble the organic shape itself at all,
; and when the organic does appear, it is a mixture of the basic organic shape
; and the detail in that area. In that way, organics remind me of the cardioid
; shape itself, in that they are both recurring shapes whose occurrence is
; to some extent independent of the surrounding detail, and are "constructed"
; from that detail.
