FIntMap is a FREEWARE color .MAP file generator for use with FractInt and other applications capable of handling similar color palette files. It allows color gradation of each of the three basic color components separately in a half-sine, full-sine or linear manner between the selected color numbers and selected color intensities.
The input can be controlled with the keyboard and the mouse, or a combination of the two, in several ways. Accelerator keys and a tool bar are available to access most menu items.
The program also has an option to generate complete color maps in a random manner, based on some user input. Starting with Version 1.4, the program also offers the option of modifying the overall intensity of a color map, either for each color component individually, or in combination, and/or globally.
FIntMap was originally designed with a 640x480 window size and a screen setting of True Color (32-bit). It ran under Windows 9x, but also works well under XP, Vista, and 7. Higher screen resolutions can be used but will result in smaller items on the screen. Settings less than True Color will result in Windows converting the colors to its own internal color map for display.
On exit, the program saves the last search path for a file name in an .INI Configuration Settings file, which is then loaded when starting the program, thus preserving the preferred path.
You can save your work at any time and load it back later to complete it or modify it. You can load any other color map compatible with FractInt and modify them at will, if so desired, and save them under the same name or some other name.
Changes from version 1.31 to version 1.4
Added:- Added a dialog box to globally modify the intensity of the RGB color components in a color map, either individually or in combination.
- Added a dialog box to globally modify the HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) of the colors in a color map.
- Added tool tips for the toolbar icons.
- Provided a sub-version using a help file in the CHM format.
- Altered the code to generate random maps; now uses random HSV values instead of random RGB values for each section.
- Also added an edit window to the dialog box for generating random maps allowing a random variation of section widths up to a maximum of +/-75%.
The main change in this latest version is the possibility of modifying the overall color of an entire color map file, either by RGB (Red, Green, Blue) or HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) components.
