XenoDream

File Formats

All of the images on this page were created using the same saved .XEP file that was used to create the original image found on my Various Other Images #2 webpage (see the third image on the first row).   The only difference is that this was a single render at 800x600 and no Lighting applied after rendering.   What I then did was save the image in all of the available formats that XenoDream had to offer.

What is unique is that sometimes the background is saved as white, and other times it is saved as black.   But what I find really interesting is the way that the image is sometimes altered depending on whether one decides to "set base level at back of object" when saving the image format, or does not do so.   And the most disturbing of all is how much the Targa format is really screwed up when it saves the image (as shown by the colorings).

Now the following two images are from the saved .OBJ format file, which was then imported into Bryce.   I used the default settings when rendering the mesh within XenoDream.   The first image was just a straight import, selection of presets for terrain and object, and then rendered.   The second image was after doing the maximum amount of smoothing before rendering.

What I had hoped for was to get the whole object, but apparently the outer portions could not be accomplished with the default settings.   Something else that was interesting is that the inner portion has had it's shape altered from what the bitmap images produced.
